Garmisch-Partenkirchen/Zugspitze - adventure of nature or a sporting challenge? The 10th annual International Zugspitz Extremberglauf connects both in a fantastic way.

On 11th.July about 700 runners and walkers will start again in front of breathtaking scenery and the cameras of From Ehrwald, Martinsplatz at 1030 meters altitude runners will cover the 17.95 km course to reach the finish at the top station of the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn at 2930 meters above sea level - a climb of 2235 meters from where they started. The terrain is challenging but the scenery is beautiful.

The Nordic Extrem Runners and Walkers will have their finish at Sonnalpin/Sonnenkarlift Bergstation at 2576 meters altitude. A large number of volunteers and life guards will make sure that all athletes keep safe during the race.

It will be interesting to see whether the course records from 2005 (2.03.02 hours for men and 2.28.48 for women) will be beaten this year. The award ceremony for the winners will be held in the afternoon at the Musikpavillon Kirchplatz in Garmisch Partenkirchen.

Kraichgau (Baden Wuerttemberg) - No drafting, wetsuits, transition area: This is Triathlon! The largest Triathlon event in the world in the long distance is the "Challenge-Roth" and this event is a legend. The spirit of Roth floats on Sunday 6 June above the Kraichgau in Germany. The distances are half of what they are in Roth but also a "Challenge" for all athletes; 1,9 km swim, 90 km bike and 21 km run.

S is for "short" but also for speed. Athletes who race the S-distance at 2pm will: 1,5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run - with even more speed. For the the regular "Challenge" as well as for the S-distance teams can participate as a relay.

The organiser has marked the hotspots and places where festivities take place, great mood prevails where you can cheer the athletes on its website
