The Ironman Austria takes place on the 1st of July. It attracts, with it’s wonderful location in the south of Austria, every year more than 2000 athletes from 50 countries.

The crystal clear water of the Wörthersee offers optimum swimming conditions; the bicycle distance leads through the heart of Kärnten and the run distance is flat.

The start in Klagenfurt is already fantastic. The 120 metre long pedestrian bridges are created for 10,000 early birds among the spectators of the IRONMAN. They turn the start area into a witch’s kettle. The water temperature of the Wörthersees is on an average 25 degrees centigrade in July. 180 wheel kilometres are to be driven in two rounds, in each case 90 kilometres. The bicycle distance is completely closed for the public transport and goes from Klagenfurt to the south shore, to the lake Faaker, later to Velden and back to Klagenfurt. The 42,195 kilometre long run distance is passing through the IRONMAN city five times and leads also into the heart of Klagenfurt. Together with Florida IRONMAN the IRONMAN Austria counts with 2400 registrations and respected 2200 starters to the biggest event of the IRONMAN world series. Once again it was booked up in no time.

Consisting of roughly eight adrenaline fuelled multi sport stages, teams have to complete various missions designed to thrill, inspire and push business people to the limits of their capabilities. Teams will find themselves doing anything from mountain biking around an ancient forest during nightfall saving ‘government agents’, to taking to the water by canoe as a ‘market trader’ trying to make the most profit in fluctuating markets. Strong team work, communication and the ability to draw on different skill sets is essential in order to succeed.

The UK Challenge plays host to a diverse range of teams from companies of all sizes across a whole range of industry sectors. Each company has their own objectives and nearly every team who takes part has a different reason for doing so. Teams that are made up of individuals with varying strengths and weaknesses often learn the most about themselves and one and other.

Over the last 12 years, the UK Challenge has proven its unparalleled ability to deliver team cohesion, individual self discovery and increased performance within the workplace. This is backed up by the fact that 97% of the nearly 600 participants last year said that the Intelligent Sport® UK Challenge positively impacted on their performance back in the workplace.

Each year the Intelligent Sport® UK Challenge moves to a stunning location and this year we are thrilled to say that the event will be taking place in Stirling, Scotland. With a settling of mountains, rocky crags and the winding River Forth, we are sure this awe inspiring location is going to provide the perfect backdrop for what is going to be an unforgettable event.
