You don’t want to miss the 2014 Mississauga Marathon weekend taking place from Friday May 2nd to Sunday May 4th

This full running experience promotes “A Run for Everyone” with a selection of activities for all ages and all athletic abilities including: the Marathon, Petrillo Law Relay Challenge, Recharge with Milk Half Marathon, Valeant Pharmaceuticals 10K, 10K Student Relay, Starbucks Hazel 5K and even a SUBWAY® Restaurants 2K Fun Run/Walk.

The marathon is a beautiful run that encompasses much of Mississauga's beauty. The point to point course is a fast net downhill race.

The course starts at Robert Speck Parkway and City Centre Drive (just beside the Wal-Mart in Square One Shopping Centre), and makes its way west across the Credit River to Mississauga Road. It then travels south for a beautiful stretch past the University of Toronto's Mississauga Campus, Mississauga Golf and Country Club and continues through some of Mississauga's most beautiful residential neighbourhoods, before winding along the scenic Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail, and back along the Lakeshore to the finish at Lakefront Promenade Park.

Be sure to also check out the Runner’s Expo at the Port Credit Memorial Arena.

Runners, walkers, spectators, volunteers and Mississauga residents are all invited to join in the fun of Race Weekend.

The marathon is a Boston Qualifier race and participants in all events can enjoy plenty of advantages through the weekend – free shuttle buses, event t-shirts, finisher medals and live bands on course and at the finish.  There’s nothing like live music to keep you going.

Mississauga is only 15 minutes’ drive from Toronto’s main international airport which makes it handy for out-of-town runners.  Participants also have a chance to chat with mayor Hazel McCallion, one of Canada's best-known mayors and one of the longest-serving elected leaders in history.  The 93-year-old has been Mississauga mayor since 1978.
