The City of Brisbane is set be swarmed with colour, fun and fitness when the fourth Brisbane Times City2South presented by Westpac takes over the CBD on 5th June.

One of the CityRun series’ most scenic courses across 5km and 14km distances, the event is in line to break new records this year, with more than 7,000 participants expected to take part to help raise over $125,000 for various charities.

For long distance runners, the spectacular 14km course will start on William St, in the Brisbane CBD and will cross the Brisbane River three times, at the Victoria, Go Between and Eleanor Schonell Bridges. The course - joining participants making their way along the 5km distance - will then head across the river and past QPAC & GOMA, over the Go-Between Bridge to join Coronation Drive through the University of Queensland.

A final charge back across the river and up Highgate “Heartbreak” Hill will see competitors welcomed with live entertainment including DJs, bands, cheerleaders and dancers as they cross the finish line in South Brisbane.

In a boost for participants, Australian distance running legend, Pat Carroll, is providing free online training plans and free community training runs to assist with preparations for every entrant.

One of Australia’s largest and most prestigious half-marathons returns to the Sydney CBD when The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon returns for its 23rd year on Sunday 15th May.

Over 12,000 participants are set to take in the city’s most iconic and spectacular landmarks, including Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, The Rocks and Pyrmont Peninsula. Participants are encouraged to go the distance of the 21.1km course or get a team together to take on a 7km or 14km leg.

The event is set to attract a mixture of those seeking a challenge, wanting to discover their PB and multi-event runners.

The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon lays claim to kick-starting the careers of Australian athletes such as Andrew Lloyd, Steve Moneghetti, Susie Power, Heather Turland and the late Kerryn McCann.

With The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon aiming to help raise $1,000,000 in 2016 for more than 800 charities, encouragement is extended to those participating, sponsoring a friend or donating to a cause.

Crave the pursuit and find your PB out there.
