Join us for the 10th anniversary of the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon on 2 October 2011, one of the UK’s most scenic marathons, with the dramatic backdrop of the Scottish mountains at the start line and a stunning route alongside the world famous Loch Ness – don’t forget to look out for the Monster! – before finishing in a scenic riverside location beneath Inverness Castle close to the city centre of Inverness.
Incorporating the Scottish Marathon Championships, places are still available in the 2011 marathon for overseas runners, and also charity and club runners.
For runners preferring a shorter distance, entries are also open for the Baxters River Ness 10K, the Baxters River Ness 5K Fun Run and the HSBC 10K Corporate Challenge.
The Baxters River Ness 10K follows a scenic route through the Highland capital of Inverness, with the flat course offering excellent potential for a fast time.
With a well-deserved reputation for excellent organisation - recently voted 4th best UK marathon by Runners World - and a warm Scottish welcome for everyone, the Festival is a great event for all the family.
Live music, together with the Baxters Food and Drink Fayre, the Baxters Pasta Party and charity and sports expo, plus kid’s activities means there is lots to do for runners and supporters of all ages. And there’s even the Wee Nessie, a short run or walk for pre-school age participants.
