- are you up for the 13-mile challenge?
There is still time to sign up for the 2012 Bristol half marathon and race organisers are sending out a challenge to runners who will be race fit on September 30th to sign up now !
“The challenge to runners is to join our 13-mile half marathon and achieve a personal best,” says Georgette Van Hoof, runbristol’s race director. “In 2012 with all eyes on London, we know people will be inspired to rise to a sporting challenge".
The Bristol Half Marathon is one of the UK’s leading road races. It is known for its flat, fast course and great camaraderie amongst the runners taking part.
It also raises thousands of pounds for the race’s three official charities, which this year are: Clic Sargent; Children’s Hospice South West and CoCo.
The Bristol Half Marathon regularly attracts over 15,000 runners, it’s a great event and we’d like to extend a welcome to “runbristol” in 2012.”
BAXTERS LOCH NESS MARATHON &
FESTIVAL OF RUNNING
Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running takes place on Sunday, 30th September and follows a superbly scenic route through wild moorland, open countryside, quiet loch side roads and along the River Ness to the finish line near the centre of the Highland capital.
The marathon has gained a well-deserved reputation for its efficient organisation over the years, and the whole weekend has a real festival atmosphere as Inverness extends the welcoming hand of Highland hospitality to over 9000 competitors.
There’s live music, the Baxters Food and Drink Fayre, a charity and sports expo and massage teams, and lots of activities for the kids – so there’s plenty to entertain, energise and reward runners and supporters of all ages throughout the weekend.
The organisers are keen to make sure all runners are in their best shape so, with the support of the event’s title sponsor, the annual Baxters Pasta Party has evolved on the Saturday afternoon. All runners, friends and family are invited to join in.
Charity and club runners places are still available in the marathon and, for those who prefer running shorter distances, entry is open until 10th September for Baxters River Ness 10K, 10K Corporate Challenge, the 5K Fun Run and Wee Nessie.
