The GE Blenheim Triathlon once again proved why it is one of the most sought after events on the British triathlon calendar. The two day event was caught up in Olympic fever as Champion Triathlete and Olympian Helen Jenkins officially opened the event by sounding the starter gun for the first race of the weekend.

Later that day, Team GB athletes Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee dominated the elite race only hours after their selection for this summer’s Olympic Games was announced. Alistair, who was back on top form after a spell of injury, crossed the finish line arm in arm with his brother Jonathon to claim a joint victory.

The Brownlee brothers joined over 5,000 other age group triathletes who also took part in the event, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity in the process. Amongst these age groupers were former sporting heroes Roger Black, Austin Healey and Josh Lewsey who all clocked impressive times, proving that they still haven’t lost that touch of class!

If you register interest for the 2013 event, you will be given an exclusive 24 hour window of opportunity to enter the event before entries go on sale to the general public. With entries filling up fast each year, we highly advise you to do this if you want to secure your place.
