It was billed as the toughest triathlon in the world and ITU World Triathlon Kitzbuhel lived up to its name with age-groupers and elites alike tackling the Kitzbuhel horn with plenty of enthusiasm. The bike started at the base of the Horn at 750m rising up to 1550m with a gradient of 22% in the final kilometre and the run then taking them up to over 1650m elevation at the Finish.

Alistair Brownlee proved yet again why he is one of the greatest triathletes of all time with another breath-taking performance to win the ITU World Triathlon Kitzbuhel. Alistair blew away the field, winning in 55 minutes 23 seconds on the course that consisted of a 750m swim, followed by a 11.5km bike and a 2.5km run.

Jodie Stimpson beat her fellow Elites in a time of 63 minutes 22 seconds nearly one minute ahead of Emma Jackson in 2nd place and Anne Haug in 3rd. This win earned Jodie her first WTS title.

The next stop of the ITU WCS tour saw a performance in Hamburg on July 20/21.  Coming up is Stockholm on August 24/25 before the Grand Final in London on September 14/15.
