Sport and culture are set to collide in Amsterdam this October with over 40,000 runners expected for the 38th edition of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon.

Very few distance running events offer competitors the chance to run through one of the world’s most prestigious museums, but the combination of the reopening of the revered Rijksmuseum and the will of passionate Marathon organisers has made this possible in Amsterdam 2013.

Well known for being a very fast marathon, the Amsterdam Marathon course is every bit as beautiful as it is quick. Taking in so much of Amsterdam’s architectural, natural and cultural beauty, the marathon is as much a guided tour of the sights and sounds of Amsterdam as it is a distance race. Windmills, of course, are included. Starting and finishing in the historic Olympic Stadium, the Amsterdam Marathon truly is a great, great course.

Marathon, Half Marathon, 8km and 1km Olympic Kid’s Run events are offered, meaning participants of all ages and ability are welcomed into this wonderful event. Registrations are skyrocketing and with a record number of entrants expected for this year’s event, get in now and don’t miss the 2013 Amsterdam Marathon!

After a dream event in amazing weather in 2012, New Zealand’s largest cycling event returns in November. The Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is a UCI Golden Bike event, meaning it is recognised as one of the world’s top 6 rides. It offers an enjoyable yet challenging ride around the shores of New Zealand’s largest lake.
