Taking place on June 14th, the inaugural Velothon Wales saw over 10,000 cyclists take to the breath-taking closed roads of South Wales.
Starting and finishing in the heart of Cardiff city centre, the event took riders on an unforgettable 140km adventure through Newport, Torfaen, Monmouthshire and Caerphilly. There was also a 50km route on offer for less experienced cyclists.
Following the sportive, some of the world’s best riders took to the very same route as part of the UCI sanctioned 1.1 professional race. This was eventually won by Cult Energy Pro’s Martin Mortensen who broke away from the lead pack with 1km to go to finish in front of a packed finish line.
