Dive into Australia’s largest open-water swimming event and secure your spot for Sunday, February 6, 2011.  Entries are now open for the 28th annual Sydney Morning Herald Cole Classic.

Join thousands of swimmers as they gather at Manly to compete in the 1km and 2km swims which start from Shelly Beach and finish at Manly Beach.  All finishers receive a commemorative medal, while category winners and place getters are awarded the famous Cole plates.

The event was started in 1982 by the Cole family and is now organised by Fairfax Events.  Historically, it was considered one of the most prestigious open-water swims in Sydney.

This very popular swim and its picturesque location mean it is well-patronised, attracting more than 4000 participants in the two categories.  The event also aims to raise funds for more than 500 charities, including the Manly Life Saving Club.
