If you have been chasing that PB for too long or just want to run a flat, fast marathon next spring in the UK, then this is the race for you – sign up to the Greater Manchester Marathon 2013 now!

The Greater Manchester Marathon, which returned in 2012 for the first time after a decade, takes place on Sunday 28 April 2013 and with only 55m elevation gain it is the flattest in the UK and one of the flattest in the world. And if the crowd support from this year’s race is anything to go by then they alone will keep you flying around that course!

With a new course for 2013, the Greater Manchester Marathon will be starting on the A56 White City Roundabout in Old Trafford, just a short walk from Manchester United Football Club, and finishing outside the magnificent stadium where the race village will also be located. The  improved route takes in the Trafford Quays area, Sale, Brooklands, Timperley, Altrincham and Urmston, with some of the route’s highlights including the Imperial War Museum, the new Media City, and of course the finish outside the Manchester United Football Club.

The Greater Manchester Marathon is the newest and most exciting addition to the UK marathon calendar, and the flat, fast route is guaranteed to attract runners from near and far. The route is perfect for beginners, seasoned athletes and PB chasers alike, and the outstanding crowd support is definitely another reason to enter this iconic race and possibly makes it the friendliest marathon too.

Athletics legend Ron Hill MBE has pledged his support for the marathon in his hometown again and he will be starting the race and then joining the running crowds for the initial 8 miles. A range of sponsors have also been confirmed including Brooks Sports, Up & Running, Clif Bar and MLP Solicitors. Cancer Research UK is the National Charity for the Greater Manchester Marathon 2013, with a range of other charities also having places for the race.

Entry is limited to 10,000 runners and places have been selling fast, please register as soon as possible if you want to secure your place and aim for that new PB! All finishers receive a medal, a t-shirt and a fantastic goody bag.
