The route of the Mitja Marató de Barcelona and the Zurich Marató de Barcelona becomes a sight-seeing tour of Barcelona, which passes through areas such as the Camp Nou (FC Barcelona), La Pedrera and the Sagrada Familia by the architect Gaudí.

This excellent distance race will bring together thousands of people from around the world on March 16 2014. The spectacular growth of participants in just seven years has placed the Catalan race among the European marathons of reference. On 16th February, a month earlier, the half-marathon will take place, offering a fantastic opportunity to train for the 42,195 km or simply an opportunity for those people who want to run a shorter distance.

There are many factors such as the climate and the food as well as the many cultural attractions offered by the city of Barcelona, but the route of the 42km race makes it the best way to get to know the city: Passeig Marítim, Las Ramblas, Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gracia... are just some of the attractions of the race.

Sport and leisure come together in this great event, which ends up in a big public celebration. Numerous bands, associations and organisations co-operate with the organisation to provide runners and spectators with a gala atmosphere reminiscent of its Olympic past.

The spectacular start of the race will be held at 8.30am from the Avenida Reina Maria Cristina, with the Palace of Montjuïc as a backdrop. Be seduced by the city!
