The Kilomathon Scotland event has been brought forward to 17 April 2011 which will be 5 weeks before the Edinburgh Marathon.  The previous event was in October, but moving forwards, the event will now take place in April to give the perfect build up training event for those entering the Edinburgh Marathon on 22 May.

The Kilomathon is a 26.2 kilometre road race developed by GSi Events and is designed to help those wanting to progress from a half marathon and those who need the next challenge before taking on a full marathon.

Next event date:

17 April 2011

The 2011 Edinburgh Marathon Festival will take place on Sunday 22 May and will follow pretty much the same course as the 2010 marathon.

Entries are full now, but there are places still available through Oxfam, the Edinburgh Marathon’s principal charity partner for the next 3 years.  Other official charities for 2011 are Macmillan Cancer Support, Breast Cancer Care and the British Heart Foundation.

The course has an overall elevation drop of 40 metres which makes it an ideal route to achieve a personal best or to improve on time.

Run & Become, an official retail partner for the Edinburgh Marathon is offering a series of Marathon Mondays giving runners advice and tips until 22 May.
