The 3D Rotorua – Off-Road Winter Multisport Festival is a brand new event for multisport fans.

Incorporating the 2011 Australasian Multisport Championship and the New Zealand Secondary Schools Multisport Championship, 3D Rotorua tempts the summer triathlete to do some alternative training on top of the water and off-road this winter.  With a short flat-water lake paddle, here is an opportunity to try something new.

Set on beautiful Lake Okareka, in the world-famous Whakarewarewa Forest and beneath the magnificent Redwoods, there are six stunning events to choose from, including:

50km premier multisport title race (individuals & teams) - 8km paddle, 30km mountain bike and 12km run.

42km duathlon - a 30km mountain bike and 12 km run.

Half marathon walk and run - 21km totally off-road.

10.5km walk and run - a true off-road quarter marathon.

8km paddle - open to all single paddle craft.

25km grassroots multisport challenge (for school children and parent-sibling pairs) - 4km paddle, 15km mountain bike and 6km run.

With individual, team and pairs racing options, there are 69 categories across the events, with prize money, medals and spot prizes on offer for those keen to go off-road this winter.
