The ultimate team relay returns to Lake Taupo this February for the 19th instalment of the Great Lake Relay.

Billed as being “the best team-building exercise of all time”, the Great Lake Relay challenges teams of 10 to 18 people to run, jog, walk or crawl their way around the massive perimeter of Lake Taupo.

Each year 4500 participants arrive in Taupo keen and eager to stride, saunter or battle their way around “their” part of the 155km course.

A shorter “Length of the Lake Relay” has been added in recent years for teams of 5 – 8 to complete, making their way the 67.5km from Pukawa at the Southern end of the lake back to Taupo.

For those runners or walkers who prefer to live on the extreme side of life a solo Length of the Lake option is even available.

The Great Lake Relay also challenges competitors to raise money for a good cause, with the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation being the official charity for the 2014 event. Prizes are awarded to the team who raises the most money for this excellent cause.

Always a great time, get to Taupo in February for a wonderful, feel good event!

It doesn't get much better than being able to run in the stunning setting of Balmoral Castle on beautiful Royal Deeside.

More than 4,000 competitors and an equal number of spectators will flock to this iconic venue over the weekend of 26-27th April to take part in RunBalmoral 2014.

There's races for everyone. On the Saturday, youngsters can tackle the MPH primary schools 1.5Km or the Kongsberg secondary schools 2.5Km while adults can choose between the ConocoPhillips 5Km or the Stena Drilling Tartan 10Km. The Sunday is dedicated to trail running with the Big Trail race held over a spectacular 15 mile route around the estate while the Wee Trail race, held over a three mile course, offers a more gentle, but no less inspiring, introduction to mixed terrain running.
