One of the fabulous success stories of the Brighton Marathon Weekend is the ICONIQ Shlurp! Mini Mile that brings together youngsters between the ages of 7 and 17.

Demand has been so high that the event has now been given its own day, Saturday 5 April, the day before the Marathon itself takes centre stage.

For 2014 the Mini Mile has been moved to Preston Park which is where the Marathon start is situated, with the first race getting under way at 11.00am.

Families and friends will be able to view races over giant TV screens with live commentary and bags of atmosphere.

The races are age-banded and there will be a T-shirt, kit bag and finisher’s medal. For the top three in each race there is the added bonus of a stage presentation.

Last year 2000 youngsters signed up for the Mini Mile, but for 2014 a whopping 3000 are expected. Despite the new target, entries are limited in each age category so it is important to register as soon as possible.

Be a part of the Brighton Marathon weekend, don’t miss out!
