2,655 participants turned up to run the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon on 1 December 2013, along with a further 2,100 runners who entered the 10km and 1,600 more who entered the 3km races.

The main charity to benefit from fund raising from the race is the Hearts of Gold which is internationally recognised for its work in offering relief for victims of mines in Cambodia and to raise awareness of the inhumanity of land mines.  Donations to the charity have helped to create prosthetic limbs, helping victims of land mines become more independent and to regenerate them socially.

The half marthon takes place amongst the ruins of the Angkor Wat Temples, giving runners the perfect opportunity to enjoy one of the world's most recognised UNESCO Heritage sites and one of the most important archaeological sites in South East Asia.
