Quinn Gardiner-Hall is a lad with a mission. The nine-year-old New Zealander wants to run four half marathons in four countries before he turns 12.

With Kerikeri Half in New Zealand and Australian Outback Half Marathon under his belt, he has his sights set on Kauai Half Marathon in Hawaii in September 2016 and the Antarctica Half Marathon in March 2017.

Thanks to a recent $10,000 AMP Scholarship, Quinn’s goal is a little closer. His key mission is to inspire others to take up a sport – especially children who he believes spend too much time inside distracted by technology.

“If we keep doing that all the kids won't keep doing amazing things and we won't have awesome New Zealanders like Sir Edmund Hillary and Sir Peter Blake."

Tis the season to be Santa. The short-distance fun runs are an increasingly popular charity fundraiser around the world. These two were at the Santa Montreal 5K in Canada.
