Dear All

It's coming up to our busiest time of year so we've a jam packed issue for you to enjoy.

There's many featured event articles that'll hopefully give you the inspiration to enter for next year and if your training programme is going really well, there's plenty of upcoming events on offer, should you wish to participate.

We've featured a charity this issue and plan to feature one every issue from now on, so if you work for a charity or have a passion for a particular charity, please email us with the details and we'll run a feature.

We've also a book review on running distances – an inspiration for all current and aspiring marathon runners.

We always love to hear your stories and would be happy to feature them. Also, if you've any handy hints regarding training, nutrition or health generally, we'd love to hear from you. Please click here to submit.

Happy reading and training!

Kind regards

Karen Parry

The 38-year-old “Emperor” Haile Gebrselassie, with a fourth overall and third consecutive victory in the 10km road race, convincingly dismissed the challenge of young British pretender Chris Thompson with 2½km of their encounter remaining, to win the Bupa Great Manchester Run in 28 minutes 10 seconds.
