Simon Kasimili from Kenya won the race in 63 minutes, followed 1 second later by fellow countryman, Edwin Kipyego who won last year.


Edith Chilemo, also from Kenya, was the fastest lady, closely followed by Liz Yelling of England and third place was taken by another Kenyan; Hellen Kimutai.


The first ever Reading Half Marathon took place on 13 March 1983 with 5,000 runners.

The 29th Reading Half Marathon took place on 20 March 2011 with 16,000 runners pounding through the town centre and the university campus. The finish took place in Madjeski Stadium, home of Reading Football Club.


For the first time, the Reading Half Marathon has formed part of a running grand prix, organised by Run Britain.
