Run one race and get two times at the Bridge to Brisbane – a classic charity fun run with a unique twist. Upon completing the event you achieve two times - your race time and your Hero Time, which is your race time minus a second for every dollar you raise for charity.
Beginning on the Sir Leo Hielscher Bridge and finishing in the RNA showgrounds in Bowen Hills, the event offers 5km and 10km fun run distances. After the race, participants can enjoy a great family day at the RNA showgrounds, with live entertainment, food vendors and a relaxed atmosphere contributing to turn the event into a splendid day out.
In 2012 the Bridge to Brisbane raised a whopping $892,973, and this year organisers have their sights set on raising $1,000,000 for a large number of different charities. Whether you have a charity you already support or you would like to begin raising money for a cause close to your heart, the Bridge to Brisbane is a great opportunity to run for a reason.
If you want to run an absolutely blistering time – and be a hero for charity – start fundraising now, because at a dollar a second there is no better way to set a ridiculous personal best!
Limelight Sports, the UK’s leading sports participation company, is the new owner of the world’s biggest duathlon, London Duathlon. This annual run-bike-run event will take place in Richmond Park, one of London’s Royal Parks, on Sunday 15 September. London Duathlon is the only mass participation event to close the roads in Richmond Park, enabling participants to compete in a stunning London location, traffic free.
The multi sport event, first held in 2005, consists of run-bike-run elements with varying distances depending on the challenge selected. London Duathlon 2013 will see four individual challenges – Super Sprint, Sprint, Classic, Ultra – and a Classic Relay challenge. Similar to triathlon, you will go through transition to change between running and cycling.
London Duathlon is another property now owned by Limelight Sports, adding to their innovative and premium portfolio that includes the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, Boutique Sport and most recently the UK’s first Energizer Night Run. In 2013, London Duathlon will partner with returning sponsors Physio4Life, RG Active and charity partner Macmillan, and welcomes Crewroom who will be providing Ultra competitors with an exclusive VIP kit package worth £90.
