We don’t just know triathlon - we live it! So say the organisers of Challenge Penticton Canada as they prepare to welcome triathletes from around the world in August.
Penticton, British Columbia, is nestled between two lakes and delivers athletes a spectacular single loop course where they will take in breathtaking scenery including beaches, vineyards and mountains. They will be cheered on by an entire community and meet some of the best volunteers in the world.
Penticton has been hosting athletes for long-distance triathlons for more than 30 years and, true to the Challenge Family motto,
we are triathlon!
Organisers have embraced the Challenge Family concept keeping the focus on the athlete and delivering the race of a lifetime to participants of all ages and abilities.
To ensure there is a race suitable for everyone, Challenge Penticton Canada offers not one but four options: Full distance, Half Distance, Full Distance Relay and, new for 2014, the Half Distance Relay.
Athletes and their families will enjoy a week-long festival of events, and even the youngest triathletes can enter the Junior Challenge Triathlon!
“It gives Penticton great pleasure to welcome athletes to Challenge Penticton, Canada – a historic time for our community as the sport of triathlon evolves in Penticton,” say organisers.
A surge of popularity, accolades and enthusiasm is surrounding Challenge Roth as the 2014 edition of the famous event looms.
Having recently accepted the award for ‘World’s Best Triathlon’ at the Oscars del Triathlon in Milan, event organisers were delighted to announce that Datev have extended their title sponsorship agreement until 2021.
These tremendous achievements are very positive side notes to the real story at Challenge Roth this year – the celebration of 30 years of Triathlon in Roth.
The inaugural ‘Franconian Triathlon’ took place in Roth on September 22nd 1984, and the county of Roth has never looked back.
The infamous “triathlon fever” has never loosened its grasp on the region, hence 30 years on Challenge Roth has become the best of the best in the world of triathlons.
Many punters believe this year’s field of triathletes is the best ever assembled at Roth, making the competitive elite side of the event a tantalising prospect.
The highlights don’t stop at the field of elites however, with an exciting surrounding programme to rival any triathlon in the world. A new look stadium, a renowned classical duet to perform at the finish line party and musically synchronised MEGA fireworks all add up to make this one massive celebration!
