The 2016 everydayhero Milton Keynes Marathon and Half Marathon was a great race with good weather, fabulous crowds and so many determined runners it truly was one of our best events yet.

The marathon and half marathon courses both started on the wide-open roads outside StadiumMK and made use of Milton Keynes’ many green spaces.

Plus runners from all four races got to experience an iconic finish inside StadiumMK.

Ben Fish won the men’s full marathon in 2:31:14, setting a new course record, while current female course record holder Kate Wright was the first female marathon runner to cross the line, doing so in 3:03:41.

Among the scores of runners to finish the half marathon was Jo Whiley from BBC Radio 2. She said, “I had such a brilliant time doing the MK Half Marathon. It was extremely well organised, the route was great - just the right amount of road running and pretty waterside tracks and running into the stadium for the final bit was quite something. Am definitely doing it again next year!!’’
