Brisbane Marathon Festival 2016 is celebrating a very special 25th anniversary edition on Sunday 7th August.

Runners and walkers from over 30 countries will descend on the closed streets of Brisbane’s CBD to truly experience Queensland’s capital city marathon event.

The iconic event honouring the great Robert De Castella’s gold medal Brisbane Commonwealth Games achievement in 1982 will see more than 5000 participants claim the streets.

It offers spectacular scenery, where participants in the Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km events will have the opportunity to run down major Brisbane city streets; including, Alice Street, Margaret Street, George Street, Mary Street and the main shopping street, Queen Street.

Participants will then turn to conquer the Story Bridge, where they can take in the fantastic sights of the beautiful Brisbane River.

The course encompasses all Brisbane’s CBD-linked bridges including Go Between Bridge, Goodwill, Victoria as well as the iconic Story Bridge. The course has been labelled the city of bridges, offering spectacular vantage points for scenic cityscape views.

Join athletes of all abilities for the 25th annual Brisbane Marathon Festival and help raise funds for charities across Australia.
