Now is the time to enter North America’s oldest road race – and tick it off your bucket list.

First run in 1894 – three years before the first Boston Marathon – the Around the Bay Road Race in Hamilton, Ontario, celebrates 123 years in March.

The race offers a unique 30k distance around Hamilton’s natural harbour. It’s a challenging course with a great finish inside FirstOntario Centre.

The first 20k is an exciting, scenic, and fast route. For 6km runners are on a narrow strip of land with Lake Ontario on both sides. This section features a crossing of the canal lift bridge (drawbridge). The last 10k includes rolling hills along the pretty North Shore Boulevard, followed by the infamous Valley Inn Rd around the 26k mark

Rich in tradition, the road race has been won by the best from around the world, including Boston Marathon winners and Olympic gold medallists.

Become part of the continuing tradition by running this challenging Lake Ontario course.
