The City of Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10K, organised by Sport Aberdeen, is the largest 10K road race in the North East of Scotland.


The event also includes a 10K wheelchair race, Schools 2k, and Family Fun Run which, for many runners, is the highlight of the season.


The course for this Scottish Athletics permit event is based around Aberdeen's Beach and Harbour area and has some spectacular views of the North Sea and the iconic Beach Ballroom on the route of the course.


The City of Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10K attracts all types of entries, from the serious runners who are in it to win it, to the corporate group who enter to raise money for charity or simply the person who wants to use the event as a motivation to get fit.

The 2k race is open to children from Primary 6 to Secondary 4, and will cost £3.00 per runner.  Places are limited to 200 and are allocated on a first come, first servsd basis, therefore get your entry in early to avoid disappointment.


The 2k race will start at the Beach Ballroom heading north. then turning left towards the driving range, then left towards Urquhart Road following the 10k route bcak to the 10k finish area.  This gives the school children a great opportunity to experience road running and the buzz surrounding the Baker Hguhes 10k Running Festival.

The race will be chip timed, therefore each finisher will receive a finish time following the race.  Each participant will also receive a T-shirt and medal.


The Family Fun Run offers an opportunity for all the family to be involved in the event. No matter how young or old, fast or slow, the fun run - push (pram), walk or jog this could be the event for you.   The Fun Run is FREE to enter and entries are only being accepted on the day race from 0800 - 0920.Once entered participants should assemble at the Fun Run start line from 0925.





The Fun Run is a short route (750 metres approx), but is an excellent source of excitement for you and your young one(s) to take part in the days events. You will start beside the official start line and finish in style under the large inflatable finishing post of the official finishing line.
