Heralded for its unforgettable finish in the magnificent Madjeski Stadium, the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon takes place 17 March 2013. The legendary race, organised by Sweatshop, attracts runners of all abilities from beginners to elite standard, with an expected 19,000 competitors set to sign up.


A course that has been carefully configured to create the ultimate race experience, the 13.1 mile route takes in the highlights of Reading city centre and the beautiful grounds of the University campus. Famous for huge crowd support, the race culminates in a finish rarely found outside an Olympic stadium with 15,000 people cheering the runners into the stadium and over the finish line. 



Whether you run for fun, run to stay fit, run for a club, or run professionally the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon has the organisational capability, friendliness and reputation that are all second to none.


Mizuno has a long heritage of sponsoring esteemed running races. This half marathon is one of the biggest regional mass participation events in the UK and will be joining major European marathons including Barcelona, Milan, Amsterdam, Liverpool and Vienna in the Mizuno sponsorship portfolio.


Entry to the Mizuno Reading Half Marathon is now open and places are already filling up fast; to secure a place visit www.readinghalfmarathon.com. Entry fees are £31.50 for UKA affiliated club runners and £33.50 for all other runners, including a medal and a goody bag at the finish.  



There is also the opportunity for families to enter a 2.8km run, known as the Green Park Challenge. It’s suitable for serious athletes wanting to run a short distance through to beginners that just want to have fun. Entry fee £6 plus free t-shirt.


Furthermore, the Corporate Relay Challenge welcomes businesses far and wide to experience running the half marathon route as a team of four. Each team member will run approximately three miles and be greeted pre and post-race with hospitality, complete with transport to and from the changeover points.



Enabling companies to promote a healthy workforce, entrants can raise money for charity and build team spirit amongst colleagues and other businesses. Dame Kelly Holmes’ charity, the DKH Legacy Trust continues to partner this event and your support will help many disadvantaged local young people. Entry fee per team £130.
