The ITU World Triathlon Hamburg 2015 was known as the Fire-and-Flame World Triathlon Hamburg. The world´s largest triathlon event offered over two days took participants through the heart of the City of Hamburg, including the Alster Lake and Town Hall market, including the harbour city.


An exciting programme of age group and handicap races, as well as elite´s competitions stirred up the spirit of the event, while the Mixed Team World Championships, for the third time placed in Hamburg, "formed the grand conclusion of an extraordinary sports weekend”, said an impressed and happy ITU president, Marisol Casado.

Christian Toetzke, managing director of the organiser Lagardère Unlimited Events, added: "The weekend could hardly have gone better. With 10,000 participants and 250,000 enthusiastic citizens who, despite a little rainy weather, came to the venue around the Rathausmarkt, Hamburg and proved again that it is number 1 sports city in Germany and a worthy candidate for Olympic Games in 2024.”
