If your idea of fun includes running, obstacles and mud, then Maximum Adventure has some great events for you.

The event management company organises corporate events, MTB, kayak, and adventure races from Queensland to Victoria, from the depths of the Australian bush to deep in the urban jungle.

Predicted rain at the Tough Bloke Challenge at Appin, NSW, in July didn’t eventuate but there was still plenty of freezing mud to keep tough blokes and chicks challenged, along with 18 obstacles and the infamous Hell’s Gate.

The event combines the challenges of cross country running, man made and natural obstacles, water crossings, mud and some unexpected surprises.

The challenge is simple, clear the obstacles and get around the course in as short a time as possible.

The upcoming Mud Run at Glenworth Valley, north of Sydney, offers 6km and 12km distances, includes man-made obstacles and finishes with “the mud pit”.

The course traverses beautiful native forests and includes fire trails, grasslands, creek crossings, hills and much more. As the name suggests, numerous mudflats and bog-holes will be at the core of this event so don’t bring that new set of runners; you might just lose them to the Mud Monster!
